The History of The King’s Head
We’re incredibly excited to be reopening the village pub in Apethorpe, Northamptonshire, after it has stood closed for several years. Located in the heart of the village, the pub has a long-standing connection to the historic Apethorpe Palace - an important Jacobean house with royal ties. Bringing a pub back to the village not only restores an important part of Apethorpe’s heritage but also creates a new space for locals and visitors to gather, relax, and enjoy.
We’re proud to be opening as a traditional pub, serving classic, comforting dishes made with quality ingredients. From hearty lunches to evening meals, we aim to offer a warm and welcoming spot for all. At the weekends, we’ll also open in the mornings as a café, providing the perfect stop for walkers, cyclists, and early risers looking for a great coffee or a freshly baked pastry.
In the evenings, our cosy wine bar will offer a relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy a carefully selected list of wines, alongside small plates and nibbles. Whether you're popping in for a drink, meeting friends for brunch, or settling in for a Sunday roast, we look forward to welcoming you to Apethorpe’s new local.
